CISF - 2012
2012 marked the tenth Science Festival and it involved all of the schools in Caithness as well as a whole weekend of activities for the general public.
The festival comprised workshops, shows, drama, hands on activities, and presentations for children from P1-P7. The presenter for the High Schools was Professor Louise Dolan who spoke about "What's Inside the Proton?" The Festival coincided with National Science and Engineering Week.
Over the weekend of Sat 10 March (Thurso) and Sun 11 March (Wick), the Science Fair was open to all of the general public of Caithness. Read more about the Public Science Fair.
This year's Festival took place in fourteen different school venues and three public venues. A total of 133 events were held in schools around the county involving twenty primary schools. The two day public science fair attracted over three hundred participants and members of the general public. The fair involved fourteen local exhibiting groups. 41 local STEM Ambassadors (coordinated by Pat Kieran MBE) were mobilised to assist with the Fair and Festival.
